Newsec Infra acted as sole Financial Advisor to Ardian Infrastructure in securing a 20-year financing for its 286 MW Åndberg wind farm located in the municipality of Härjedalen in the north of Sweden. The financing is provided by KfW IPEX-Bank, which is the part of KfW Group responsible for project and export finance.
The long-term financing was secured on the back of a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA), signed in October 2019 with Skellefteå Kraft, one of Sweden’s largest energy producers.
Ardian Infrastructure acquired the Åndberg wind farm from OX2 in February 2019 as part of its Nordic sustainable energy investment platform, eNordic. Following its completion in 2021, Åndberg will each year provide clean electricity in excess of 800 GWh, making it one of the largest wind farms in Sweden.
Omid Ashrafi, Managing Partner at Newsec Infra says:
“It has been a pleasure supporting the Ardian and eNordic teams during the whole journey from acquisition, to offtake structuring and now reaching financial close, in a debt process where we implemented an innovative structure with low level of contracted revenues while maximizing the debt tenor and optimizing the debt terms”
